Description

In this hands-on activity students will learn about energy conservation. To begin, the students will discover where their energy comes from and why it is important to consider the environment with our energy choices. They will brainstorm ways to conserve energy at home and share their ideas by making a postcard to display.  In addition, a PDF worksheet for student reflection is included with the activity.

This activity is best suited for the elementary classroom.  It would help to attain the curriculum outcomes related to energy; however, it is a valuable resource to use at any time with students with its focus on energy conservation and caring for the Earth. As such, it could be used as an activity for Earth Day.
