Sammy, a young Wilson's warbler, embarks on his first southern migratory journey to Panama. After being separated from the rest of his flock, he must set off on a solo voyage. Sammy encounters other migrating animals such as caribou, monarch butterflies, a garter snake, a dragonfly and sandhill cranes, along the way. Stopping to ask the same question of each of these different animals, Sammy receives different advice to help him find his way. Finally, a flock of his warbler cousins shows Sammy that finding Panama is done by following the stars.
This migration story includes information on all of the animals Sammy meets as well as a map which traces his journey.
