How Can Air Pollution Affect Our Bodies

Elementary

Description

"How Can Air Pollution Affect Our Bodies" helps students to explore the concept of character traits while learning about the impact of air quality on human health. It links to a previous lesson on air quality called "Why Is Coco Orange?" and can be used as a stand alone resource or as a follow up activity.

Students will inquire about character traits via a google slides document analyzing different characters by saying what they are doing and feeling and then predicting what the characters would think and say. Students reread the book "Why Is Coco Orange?" this time paying particular attention to what Coco feels, says, does and thinks. They then complete a journal prompt of their choice.

Included in this resource are suggestions for an optional whole group assignment as well as ideas for differentiating the lesson.
