Description

During this activity, students will learn, compare and classify native and non-native species. Once students have a better understanding about invasive species, they will then participate in a classroom debate about the differences between them, their positive and negative effects, and whether their populations should be conserved or controlled.

General Assessment

Recommendation of how and where to use it

This resource would integrate itself well as an introduction with science units dealing with the interactions of ecosystems, biodiversity, and habitat preservation.

Also, the debate activity could be used in some language arts units when looking at communication.
