Exploring habitat is one activity in a compilation of guided inquiries from Thoughtbox Education’s Learning at Home Curriculum.
Beginning with the question ‘why is being in nature so good for use?’ students are asked to consider what good nature can bring them in a multitude of ways. They will think, feel and connect with the natural world by exploring links to relevant articles, videos, podcasts and case studies that are provided in order to allow students to investigate and explore why nature is very important for the health of both our body and our mind.
In addition to the tools to support the inquiry, the resource includes a student guide, ideas for action and suggestions and support for deepening the investigation.
Teachers will be addressing outcomes in Health and Physical Education when looking at well-being. The resource could also be used in relevance to science and social studies units touching biodiversity and interactions with the ecosystem as an introduction to help student understand the importance of protecting our planet.
