These features allow students to explore weather in their own community as well as in other locations across the country.
Educational and learning oriented features of the app include:
Teachers can use the weather app to help students observe local weather patterns, track changes over time, and connect lessons to real-world environmental conditions. It can also be incorporated into daily routines to support students’ understanding of weather patterns while building digital literacy skills.
The app is suitable for grades four to twelve and aligns with curriculum outcomes in science, environmental science and geography. Elementary students can use the app to observe local weather, track daily changes, and learn basic weather terminology. Middle school students can analyze trends over time, compare conditions across different locations, and explore weather alerts and air quality. High school students can use the app for more advanced learning by examining climate patterns, analyzing weather data, and connecting daily weather observations to climate change.
