Sources of Energy

Elementary, Middle

Description

In this episode, students will discover the different types of energy sources on Earth that humans transform into fuel for cars, planes and trucks, or to heat homes, turn on lights and charge electronic gadgets. An experiment shown will explain how wind power works with, and how renewable resources could be part of a solution in the fight against climate change.

General Assessment

Recommendation of how and where to use it

This video would be excellent to start a discussion about home energy. Students could identify ways to save energy at home with activities such as changing some of their day to day activities and how this can help with the fight against climate change. This could also be used as an introduction to talk about the difference between renewable and non-renewable energy sources and how important it is to try and use renewable energy.
