In this e-book, students are introduced to the character of Thoko and her friend, Earthly. They play together every day after school until one day; Earthly doesn't feel well. While visiting the doctor, they learn that Earthly is suffering from climate change. The doctor examines Earthly's medical records and explains how climate change has happened. General Assessment

Recommendation of how and where to use it

This e-book could be used to begin a discussion and introduce the concept of climate change in an upper elementary science classroom. It fits very well into the outcomes around weather.  Another option, would be to use this book as a read aloud around Earth Day and to incorporate some of the suggestions at the end of the story as Earth Day initiatives.

This series of books is electronic with the option of listening to the stories as a read aloud. A glossary of climate change words and definitions is located at the back of the book.
