Students explore the concept of water by thinking, feeling and connecting to water through reflection questions and hands-on activities.
The students will track their daily water use with a ready-made chart in the first activity. Afterwards, they will reflect on ways to reduce their water consumption. In the second hands-on activity, the students will create their own water cycle and observe each aspect of the cycle to develop an understanding of the process. In the final activity, the students learn how to collect rainwater at home.
Additional activities are included in this resource related to the topic of food.
This concise resource would fit very nicely into the elementary classroom with its ties to weather and water. It would be an excellent resource to implement around World Water Day in March with its emphasis on water conservation and reflection on water use.
