Earth's Climate Has Always Changed. Why All the Fuss?

Secondary, Middle

Description

The video examines how today's changing climate is very different from the climate shifts that have characterized earth's history and why this current warming presents a threat to our survival. The program explains that rather than changes taking place over geological time frames of thousands & thousands of years, today's climate warming is occuring ten times faster.  This terrifying rate of change is being driven by human production of greenhouse gases.  It threatens the sustainability of ecosystems and challenges our ability to adapt.

The video effectively dispells any notion that today's changing climate is normal and it encourages us to take action.

General Assessment

Recommendation of how and where to use it

The video addresses a common misconception concerning today's warming climate and will add to any study of climate change.  It also supports themes in earth science and geography that deal with our changing earth.
