Climate Change 101 with Bill Nye

Secondary, Middle

Description

Climate change is a real and serious issue. In this video Bill Nye, the Science Guy, explains what causes climate change, how it affects our planet, why we need to act promptly to mitigate its effects, and how each of us can contribute to a solution.

General Assessment

Recommendation of how and where to use it

Climate Change 101 should be used as an introduction to the student's study of climate change. It provides a framework for further student investigation of he causes, the effects and the possible response to climate change. That investigation might also include consideration of the position taken by those who challenge Nye's claims with respect to climate change.

Given the social, economic and environmental implications of climate change, an integrative approach to the study of the issue that blurs curriculum lines may be effective.
