AQUA: Conserve Water

Description

Aqua learns the meaning behind the word conservation as she teachers her family how to save water.  Even Aqua's pesky little brother soon realizes that saving water is good for the environment.  The whole family celebrates their smart choices that have helped them become better water citizens!

Recommendation of how and where to use it

This video would make an excellent introduction to a World Water Day school celebration where students are able to explore water conservation.  The website has printable comic books, colouring books and posters to further student awareness about personal water saving actions.  Local First Nations members could be invited to the event  to teach students  traditional ecological knowledge related to water.  A class could also create a map that shows peers the locations of important watersheds and drinking water reservoirs in their community.
