Visiting with the Land is a series of twelve videos featuring guiding questions designed to enhance understanding of the Métis relationship with the Land. Narrated by Métis Knowledge Holder Krista Leddy, this series teaches students how to live in respectful connection with the land, which includes the waters, animals, plants, and all our relations. The videos are filmed outdoors, showcasing the natural environment and emphasizing the importance of the land in Métis culture.
These short videos offer a brief explanation of various plants and animals, inspiring us to be more mindful of our plant and animal relatives, while recognizing the Métis' connection to the land. Each video features topics that present both the English and Michif names for the plants and animals. Michif is the distinct, Indigenous language of the Métis.

All RCTL resources have been carefully crafted by RLI's team of Métis educators. RLI works closely with Métis leaders, knowledge keepers, and community members to produce resources that accurately present authentic Métis voices and stories in education
The strength of these videos is in its sound yet simple design and excellent support of K-4 science. It provides a meaningful learning opportunity to get elementary students outdoors. These videos reveal educational content that carries a Métis perspective and can be replayed and accessed at any time.
