Stuff Happens-With Bill Nye: FOOD WASTE

Secondary, Middle

Description

In this short video, Bill Nye promotes an "eco-friendly kitchen," focusing on the problems associated with purchasing more food than is consumed and the improper disposal of food waste.  This program is part of the Stuff Happens series that examines the everyday use of 'stuff' in our lives that can have far-reaching effects on our planet.   Bill encourages students to buy less food more often and to compost waste. Not only will these practices save money and fertilize gardens, they will support a more sustainable waste management plan moving forward.
