A project of LSF
In this 25-minute activity students collaborate to develop scientific hypotheses and inquiry questions aimed at evaluating the environmental impacts of electric versus gasoline vehicles. Students are asked to consider a response to the question, "which vehicle is better for the environment, electric or gas?" Through guided discussions, peer feedback and tools provided by the resource, students refine their hypotheses, develop questions while enhancing their understanding of scientific inquiry and critical thinking. This exercise not only deepens comprehension of environmental issues related to transportation but also hones skills in formulating effective research questions, aligning with curriculum objectives in science education.
This lesson would support the study of climate change and sustainability in environmental science. It would also compliment scientific literacy units.
