Description

This video based on the Magic School Bus series of children’s books about science sees an eccentric teacher (Ms. Frizzle) take her class on an exciting educational field trip. With the help of a magic school bus the class explores and learns many things about waste management.

This Christmas episode focuses on the importance of reducing, reusing, and recycling waste. The class visits a recycling plant, and then imagine a ‘world”, where no waste is recycled, reduced, or re-used. The importance of planet stewardship and sustainable consumption is highlighted.

This video would be an excellent tool to introduce the importance of  reducing, reusing and recycling waste. It could also be used to address outcomes in social studies by showing the connections between humans and their environment with regards to the role they play as stewards of our planet.
