Honduras: Seventh Grade-Lesson 2

Finding the Top Bananas

Elementary, Middle, Secondary

Description

In this unit students will learn more about banana production in Honduras, how bananas are used and consumed in their own community, and they will create their own banana certification standards. Students may participate in a field trip to a local grocery store, and learn about consumer-driven markets from a variety of sources. Students will complete brochures to show what they have learned.

There are opportunities within this plentiful resource for important learning within a student's own community and the world community. The resource includes beautiful slideshows of the rainforest and provides a certificate of completion for students who complete the unit.
