Going Green with D-rop: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle

Elementary

Description

D-rop, the imaginary water droplet is very concerned about greenhouse gas emissions and the need to save precious natural resources.  In this short video she encourages students to reduce, reuse and recycle and offers lots of easy tips that not only help keep the environment healthy but are also fun!

General Assessment

Recommendation of how and where to use it

This video would contribute to an Earth Day celebration or to support sustainability outcomes.  Students could plan a school clean up and then apply what they learned from the film to create a display that informs peers about how much material is recyclable.  A local artist could be invited to teach students how to be creative using items normally discarded.  A class could also organize action projects such as a school clothing swap, a paper recycling project or a litter free lunch day.
