Description

Terry Teegee, Regional Chief of the British Columbia Assembly of First Nations and former forestry coordinator for Takla Lake First Nations, argues that unsustainable forestry practices and disregard for traditional indigenous knowledge about forest ecosystems have worsened the impact of climate change.

Strengths

There is a growing recognition that society may benefit from an understanding of the traditional indigenous relationship with nature - that we must restore a sense of balance in our approach to nature. This video will help advance that paradigm shift.

The video advances a perspective that requires further investigation by students. It should be regarded as beginning a conversation.
