Students first become familiar with a number of concepts including consumption, resource depletion, ecological footprint, biodiversity and sustainability. They then determine their individual ecological footprints with the help of on an on-line calculator. After discussing their results with a partner students answer a set of reflection questions and complete a handout to assess their understanding of the key concepts.
